Senior Claims Specialist

**Objectives & Key Performance Indicators**:

- Effective implementation of claims strategy across commercial lines
- Collaborate with Product, Underwriting and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of coverage, policy intent and wordings.
- Attain annual claims savings set by HoD annually for the team on pending claims volume and nature of claims.
- Effective claims management skills, including compliance to protocols/operating procedures, reserving and managing panel of service providers.
- Maintain good claims service level standards to ensure customer claims experience are met.
- Work with HoD to develop claims talent pipeline for the retail claims team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assess, evaluate and negotiate all commercial claims including and not limited to Property & Casualty, Engineering, Marine, WICA and Reinsurance assigned and to achieve settlement in a timely manner within the designated authority limit;
- Handling of claim recoveries;
- Liaison with service providers such as surveyors, investigators, lawyers, doctors and/or other relevant parties on claims matters;
- Assist HoD to implement claims management strategies and to ensure proper claim settlements in accordance with policy conditions and company guidelines;
- Assist HoD to guide and motivate team to ensure claims competencies; meeting service standards and abiding by claims protocols.
- Assist, discuss and escalate complex or large claims for review and decision with HoD and Management;
- Attend to issues within the commercial team, claim enquiries and complaints/feedback from customers, business relationship managers and intermediaries;
- Assist HoD in statistical reports, operational reports and recommendations on claims remedial steps (where applicable) on regular basis to Management;
- Work with HoD to implement procedures for the handling of claims for new commercial products;
- Work with team on ongoing review and continuous improvement of claims operating procedures and standards;
- Support Projects and Initiatives within claims incl Marketing, Process, Product, System Setup and Enhancement for all commercial products;
- Work closely with IT Master platform teams to further enhance the claims process and system functionalities of the core platform to move towards organizations’ STP and NPS targets as a claims team;
- Any other duties as and when deemed necessary.

**Requirements**:

- Recognized degree or diploma;
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in claims handling of general insurance products, particularly on commercial products such as Property and Casualty, Engineering, WICA, Marine and Reinsurance;
- Relevant large loss, NatCat and reinsurance claims and reporting experience will be highly valued;
- Meticulous, analytical, problem solving and organized;
- Open-minded, proactive, receptive to new ideas and cope well with changes;
- Effective communication, negotiation, customer service techniques/skills and interpersonal skills to be capable of dealing with all levels of clients, intermediaries and external parties;
- Good spoken and written communication skills in both English & Chinese;
- Team player who is willing to work in a dynamic change orientated environment.
