**KeyStart **is a home ownership programme supporting families with children living in rental communities who aspire to own homes. We hope to transform the lives of families with children through stable, adequate, and conducive housing; by providing financial support, housing case work support, and transitional support to families as we journey with them towards home ownership.

**Good Jobs **is an employment and livelihood support programme established by SCC to support families who aspire to progress in their careers and enhance their employment income. We believe in working with our community members to define what good jobs are for themselves, and we are committed to supporting them in their journey to find these jobs, be equipped with the mindsets, competencies and skills required for these jobs, to sustain in these jobs, and finally to progress their careers and enhance their income.

**Responsibilities**:
**KeyStart Home Ownership Programme (50%)**

The KeyStart Specialist is a versatile role which supports families in many meaningful ways. In journeying with families, we play the role of a community worker. In providing housing guidance, we activate our knowledge of housing policies and processes. In providing renovation support to achieve basic habitation, we learn to work with renovation contractors to build the best possible new homes with families within limited resources.
- Direct work: build strong and supportive relationships with families who are on the KeyStart programme through consistent engagements; provide housing guidance to support families in overcoming their barriers and difficulties faced to achieve home ownership; and advocate together with families to key stakeholders so that they can access the resources they need to overcome systemic barriers that families face in their home ownership journey.
- Indirect work: you will have the opportunity to be involved in programme and service design, programme administration, stakeholder management, research, and impact evaluation. You will be required to provide support to the KeyStart team to plan and execute the KeyStart programme.

**Good Jobs Programme (50%)**

The Livelihood Specialist is an evolving role as we learn from families and the ongoing work to continually grow this piece of work to support families to not only find good jobs that are suited for their aspirations, strengths, and life circumstances; but to provide the required support and resources to enable them to succeed and sustain in these jobs.
- Direct work: build strong and supportive relationships with families who are on the Good Jobs programme through consistent engagements. The work with families will include implementing interventions to:

- enhance job readiness,
- enhance access to training and upskilling,
- bridging to relevant resources who can support with job matching and placement,
- enable employment sustainability, and
- address all other individual, familial, and systemic barriers to enhance livelihood and sustain employment in good jobs.
- Indirect work: you will be required to support the exciting work of designing and evolving this programme to best meet its goals in a meaningful way for community members. This involves building different pathways for different target profiles of community members who are on the Good Jobs programme. You will also be required to work closely with partners and stakeholders across the public sector, labour movement, and social services sector to allow our work to complement the existing resources in the ecosystem.

**Requirements**:

- Passionate about the cause of transforming lives of community members from low-income backgrounds through housing and employment, matched with a heart for the work and a commitment to journey with these community members.
- Preferably 2 years’ experience in social services or community work or employment support and related roles. Experience working with community members from low-income backgrounds is a bonus.
- Independent, self-directed, and reflexive worker and learner who is passionate about poverty, inequality, and personal growth.
- Good intrapersonal skills with the communication abilities and confidence to be able to empathetically engage with people from all walks of life, with different personalities, backgrounds, and histories.
- Able to operate effectively in a dynamic and fluid work environment which will require you to change directions quickly to respond to realities on the ground, and to continually evolve our work to best serve community members.
- Committed to working on 1-2 weekday evenings per week within a 44-hours work week.
