**Responsibilities**

DATD is looking for an experienced and dedicated Dance Instructor and Studio Manager with a passion for teaching and guiding children in their pursuit of Ballet, Tap, Modern/Jazz and Hip Hop dance genres as well as having previous leadership experience in the running of a dance school/company.
- Conduct the teaching of Ballet, Tap, Modern/Jazz and Hip Hop dance in groups and individual lessons;
- Must have a strong passion and flair for teaching young children in a nurturing environment;
- Demonstrate and teach dance methods and techniques to the highest level;
- Observe, guide and rectify any mistakes in form or technique;
- Develop students’ abilities by working with them through the curriculum;
- Provide timely review and evaluations on their learning progress;
- Prepare students for performances;
- Organise the running of the school on a day to day basis;
- Organise the school’s teaching schedule including private classes;
- Update all staff members accordingly and in a prompt and organised fashion;
- Be prepared to handle any issues that may arise in a professional manner whilst keeping the school’s professional image and ethos at all times;
- Organise all manners involved in the school’s annual dance recital and any competitions that the school may compete in and dance camps/events that the school holds;
- Assist in term changeover and re-enrolment of students;
- Assist in syllabus management and teacher training;
- Assist and organise all new hires;
- Organise any cover teaching should it be needed.

**Requirements**:

- Must have an educational award in Dance - BTEC (or equivalent)/Diploma or Degree;
- Strong professional training in the ISTD Syllabus to the level of at least Intermediate in Ballet, Modern/Jazz and Tap;
- At least basic knowledge of Hip Hop;
- Must have practical teaching qualifications in Ballet, Modern/Jazz and Tap;
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years experience in teaching is a must. We will look favourably upon experience in teaching children below the ages of 7.
- Knowledge and understanding of Ballet, Modern/Jazz and Tap & basic Hip-Hop techniques;
- Positive, nurturing, and encouraging personality;
- Energetic and able to conduct self-confidently;
- Ability to communicate well with students and parents;
- Have strong leadership qualities with prior leadership experience of at least 2 years;
- Must have prior experience in managing a dance school/business;
- Must be motivated, reliable and have a strong work ethic;
- Creativity and imagination is key to the role;
- Must have experience in working with and managing a mixture of nationalities.
