**Role Summary**: The Sourcing Specialist-SDC is responsible for Running the Sourcing events, Price agreements, Strategic Sourcing initiatives like DTV (Design to Value), VE (Value Engineering), and high value spot buys (US$ >100K) etc with suppliers in APAC region. Drive down the cost and add value to the purchased goods from the APAC suppliers in collaboration with Regional Performance, Category and Platform Supply Chain team to meet the company objectives. This position reports directly to the respective Regional Sourcing Manager-SDC (Strategic Distribution Centre) and will be responsible for country / region in APAC as assigned by the Sourcing Manager. **Responsibilities & Requirements**: For the named country or region in APAC or category or products, the individual is assigned for - Supporting the sourcing needs as dictated by the business, execute sourcing events and deliver the results as needed in the Ariba sourcing. - Implementing supplier sourcing roadmap for the country, category, or products. - Maintaining Commercial Competitiveness of the suppliers. This includes continuous assessment of the strategic suppliers against the market and other suppliers. - Coordinating with the supplier performance group to ensure the supplier(s) remain competitive and take necessary action to continually address cost challenges and further reduce their cost base. - Manage and Drive RFQ, Supplier Selection, Price/contract negotiation for Category based Transformation cost reduction Projects from cost reduction trackers and provide business case document for decision making - Negotiate and propose supplier pricing agreements. - Support and provide inputs to product group on product costing to develop business case and sourcing implementation. - Identify opportunities for strategic sourcing projects through low value spot buys and AOP - Follow and comply Sourcing 101 steps. - Involve in developing sourcing strategy for targeted Sourcing Projects / initiatives on specific projects as needed by Site / Platform. - Monitor supplier(s) spend against AVL and Roadmap set by Category Management - Periodic review with Supplier Performance Group on the supplier performance report out to the Sourcing manager. - Negotiate and propose pricing and terms on high value spot buys US$ >100K (not covered with contracts). - Identify sourcing gaps and provide recommendation to Sourcing manager. - Ensure the use of the Global / Strategic / Partner & Preferred Suppliers for all the sourcing requirements. - **MAIN OBJECTIVES**: - Delivering cost reduction targets for the company. - Ensuring correct contractual coverage. - Supplier base optimization / reduction as per Category strategy - Increasing spend coverage with Partner / Preferred suppliers. **Preferred Experience / Skills**:COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS** - 10 years of experience in Supply Chain - 5+ years of sourcing experience - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field - Strong interpersonal relationship management - Evidenced understanding of both commercial and technical areas of supply chain - Very good commercial acumen and negotiation skills - Proficiency in Project Management - Knowledge of supply base in the region for the assigned categories - Understanding of market dynamics - Strong analytical skills which involve collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data **PREFERENCES** - Change management experience - Certified Supply Chain Professional - Geographically mobile for development opportunities - Ability to influence, communicate, and collaborate at all organizational levels - Expertise with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Knowledge of SAP and sourcing tools like Ariba - Sound understanding on the sourcing needs of the regional / global sites **Primary Posting Location**: Singapore, Singapore **Job Posting Category**: Supply Chain **Job Advertising Title**: Buyer **Employment Type**: Full time **Country**: Singapore **Auto req ID**: 54761BR Flowserve is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions without regard to race, gender, disability or protected veteran status.
