My client, a global Asian bank is looking for a Database Adminstrator / Server Admin at Analyst/Associate/AVP level to join the growing IT team and support their IT capabilities. This role would need to have prior experience as an Oracle Data Administrator.
- **Database design and documentation**:Develop and maintain database design documents, ensuring they are up-to-date and reflect the current state of the database.
- **Database management**:Manage the database environment, including Oracle and SQL Server. This includes tasks such as configuring and maintaining database servers, backing up and restoring databases, monitoring database performance, and troubleshooting database errors.
- **System performance monitoring and troubleshooting**:Monitor system performance and identify and resolve problems. This includes performing daily start-of-day checks, identifying and fixing performance bottlenecks, and responding to user-reported errors.
- **Database backups and recovery**:Ensure that the database is adequately backed up and can be recovered if needed. This includes implementing a regular backup schedule, testing backups, and restoring databases from backups.
- **Communication with users and vendors**:Respond in a timely manner to user-reported errors and vendor requests. This includes providing status updates, resolving issues, and escalating problems as needed.
- **Database standards and procedures**:Establish and ensure that database standards (security, reliability, availability, and scalability) and procedures are met by product teams. This includes developing and enforcing policies and procedures, and conducting training and awareness sessions.
- **Change management**:Implement and manage changes while ensuring data integrity is maintained. This includes testing changes before they are implemented, monitoring the impact of changes on database performance, and rolling back changes if necessary.
- **Data security**:Ethically handle private data, including financial and customer data. This includes implementing security controls, conducting security assessments, and training users on security best practices.
- **Tool usage**:Have experience with Oracle Enterprise Management tool and other incident and problem management tools such as ServiceNow.
- **Scripting**:Have experience in scripting, query tuning, optimization, and solving complex problems.
- **MongoDB**:Have basic knowledge of MongoDB.

**Job Requirements**
- **Education**:Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- **Experience**:At least 3 years and above of experience in system/database development and administration.
- **Skills**:Strong technical skills in Oracle and SQL Server, as well as experience with other database technologies. Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and Oracle Restart is a plus.
