**Enrolled Nurse (Locum)**

**Location: West**

**Scope**:
1. Attends to patients’ activities of daily living including lifting, positioning and transportation.

2. Assists the RN in the timely admission, transfers and discharges of patients.

3. Assesses new patients and re-assesses transferred in patients for fall risk.

4. Monitors patient for changes in condition, recognizes early signs of clinical deterioration and notifies the RN to help implement immediate care.

5. Assists/performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

6. Raises/escalates to the RN of any unusual or abnormal observations, safety concerns and issues.

7. Assists to prepare trolleys and equipment for simple bedside procedures e.g. blood culture, wound care.

8. Assists in the preparation of patient undergoing procedures, surgery or radiological investigations.

9. Assesses and prepares patient thoroughly before, during and after transfer for safety.

10. Adheres to correct infection control practices and maintains a safe work environment.

11. Documents patient care onto Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

12. Ensures patient equipment/devices are functioning and reports faulty equipment to nurse in charge.

13. Reinforces to patient and next of kin (NOK) on fall safety measures and advises NOK on the same.

14. Provides basic health education to patients and NOK on self-care, and infection control practices.

15. Takes responsibility to ensure adequate supplies of consumables and inventories are available for use.
