**JOB SUMMARY**

The Design & Development team within the Global Design (GDAP), combines great operational and technical experience across all F&B Operations areas (e.g., F&B, Club Lounges, Public Spaces, Back of house areas,) with product and service design capabilities to create compelling guest experiences. Design & Development experts are responsible for researching, developing, testing and launching new products and services for the company. The incumbent drives new products and services to meet guest needs and expectations.

The Senior Director will leverage their operational experience, knowledge of the local market and passion for designing elegant guest experiences to design, develop, deliver and enhance a specific set of products and/or services. They are accountable for facilitating the process of product development and enhancement by creating new products and services and evolving existing products and services. They will collaborate with cross-functional project teams to design new concepts and refine existing features to continually improve adoption and the overall guest experience. The incumbent should be comfortable participating in all parts of a guest-centered design process (i.e., ideation, proof of concept, build, pilot, and deployment) and also in creating deliverables at varying levels of fidelity: from quickly capturing a concept’s value proposition to creating final products and services and documenting operational procedures and specifications.

Key accountabilities include: bring a region (APEC) lens to D&D projects review of presentations with key executives; partnering with brand, discipline, continent and corporate sponsor to provide innovative solutions to drive the guest experience in support of strategic growth goals; leads collaborative product and service development, design integrity standards, and lessons learned; continually monitors current business processes, makes recommendations and implements approved changes as required; mentors design and development team members to facilitate professional growth.

**CANDIDATE PROFILE**

**Education and Experience**
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Industrial Design, or related major plus 4 years’ experience in Operations or related professional area;
OR
- 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Industrial Design, or related major plus 2 years’ experience in Operations or related professional area.
- 6+ years of business management leadership experience in 5-star Hospitality and/or Food Service Industry.
- Elevated sense of design.
- Knowledge of the local market and APEC market.

**Design & Development General Duties**
- Oversees conceptual design of food & beverage and other public areas of new hotels, across all Marriott brands in APEC
- Develops, writes and or supports the writing of the concepts for new hotels.
- Researches and evaluates new project documentation to help maintain Marriott creative competitive edge.
- Oversees the space planning and layout of restaurants, bars, lounges, ballrooms, meeting rooms, back of house areas and other public areas, to ensure they are conceptually aligned with original operational intent.
