Metlab Technician

Job Descriptions:

- Metallurgical laboratory. Evaluation include evaluate coating microstructure under microscope, testing of material hardness, tensile strength, etc.
- Perform Quality Assurance Duties, not limited to, Incoming and Final inspection and ensure Quality checks by Operations are carried out dutifully.
- Generate non-conformance action reports for rejects Manage Quality Logs such as Non-conformance Log, Calibration Log, Training records and etcetera.
- Ensure quality records are properly maintained. Records shall remain legible, readily identifiable and retrievable.
- Conduct first article inspection (FA) and generate first article reports.
- Assist Quality Manager in generating Inspection Test Plan.
- Manage Total Prevent Maintenance of the lab’s tooling and equipment.
- Follow all workplace safety rules, practices and principal
- Follow workplace instructions and policies
- Set up and operate process equipment according to written instructions
- Become a certified Lab Technician/Quality Inspector and follow quality standards in verifying conformance of work
- Attend daily toolbox meetings and perform routine TPM on equipment to keep in top condition
- Follow lockout-tagout procedures and participate in all facets of turn-around cleaning and maintenance
- Be a good team member to assist shift leader and peers to perform work tasks
- Participate in STOP and GO program
- Practice 5S housekeeping and maintain the workplace clean and organized
- Participation and involvement in productivity and cost savings projects
- Execute QC measures for all supplied raw materials.
- Maintaining and tracking of the sampling status of the specific parts

**Knowledge/ Skills/ Competencies Required**
- GCE ‘O’ level, NITEC in Mechanical or equivalent.
- Good understanding and ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Must able to read and understand English.
- Basic computer skills.
- Able to use basic inspection equipment (e.g. Micrometer, Dial gauge, etc).
- Physically fit and is required to carry heavy load of about 18kg occasionally.
- Experience of using microscope, hardness tester, polishing machine would be an added advantage.
