**Role Overview**:
As a Battery Electrochemist at Flint, you will play a pivotal role in the development and testing of material chemistries for the next generation of batteries. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams of
scientists and engineers to drive the advancement of new battery technologies, ensuring they meet stringent performance and cost targets.
**Responsibilities**:
- Conduct cutting-edge research in aqueous battery electrochemistry to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Design and innovate electrolyte compositions with a focus on safety, sustainability, and performance.
- Investigate battery structure and morphology to enhance overall functionality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate electrochemical solutions into the larger battery system.
- Utilize simulation tools for modeling and analyzing electrochemical processes.
- Perform electrochemical properties testing, analyzing data to facilitate continuous improvement.
**Qualifications**:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or any related field.
- Proven expertise in aqueous battery electrochemistry, emphasizing electrolyte composition, structure and morphology.
- Experience in the development of battery materials, including problem-solving in material and electrochemical domains.
- Strong background in simulation tools and electrochemical properties testing.
- Proficiency in electrochemistry with hands-on experience in techniques like cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, and related diagnostics.
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting battery performance data, such as capacity fade and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
- Demonstrated leadership in collaborative research projects, showcasing excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges.
- Effective communication skills and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
**Additional Skills (preferred)**:
- Experience in scaling up lab processes to pilot or production scale.
- Knowledge of battery system integration.
- Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards in the battery industry.
- Proficiency in data analysis, high-throughput experimentation, and statistical analysis software such as R or Python.
