Regional Head Compliance

**What it's about**

In this role of Regional Head Compliance (Asia), you will be primarily responsible for the regulatory obligations in the Asia-Pacific region particularly including our regulated entities in Singapore, Japan and Australia. This role presents an excellent opportunity to achieve personal success and contribute to the growth of our business in the Asia-Pacific region. You will be based in our regional hub office in Singapore and reporting directly to the Global Co-Head of Compliance.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with the Country Heads of Compliance in Singapore, Japan and Australia and other internal functions to ensure that processes, systems and controls are in place to comply with applicable regulatory requirements across the Asia-Pacific region.
- Manage a team of currently 3 employees and an external consultant
- Provide compliance advice and support to the business on applicable compliance policies and procedures, e.g. trading or marketing related queries.
- Oversee regional regulatory risk assessments, oversee local compliance monitoring to supplement the global program, and lead your team in following up on any internal control reviews/audits conducted internally or by third parties.
- Proactively identify gaps, highlight any potential concerns/ risks, recommend remediation actions and share best practices to enhance existing processes.
- Help and support the Global Co-Heads of Compliance to drive the Compliance team's strategy and do prepare the Compliance team for future challenges by sharing ideas, mapping new concepts and challenging the existing set-up.
- Monitor and assess market trends and regulatory developments relevant to the business in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Lead global initiatives/projects and provide support to the regional compliance team in Asia.

**What we expect**
- University graduate in Law, Business, Accounting or related discipline.
- 10-15+ years of relevant regulatory compliance experience, in the Asset Management / Investment Management industry across the Asia-Pacific region.
- Outstanding people leader.
- Team player and collaborative approach is a must.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present analysis and recommendations.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in problem-solving and being able to implement and deliver solutions independently.
- Takes the lead in team projects and initiatives (e.g. supporting the implementation of new regulations) with the ability to manage assignments with competing priorities with full ownership and high autonomy considering best practice and competing firms.
- Successful in building, maintaining and leveraging internal and external relationships including with the relevant regional regulator(s), auditors and other stakeholders.
