[What the role is]

The BIS Innovation Hub is dedicated to promoting technological innovation, amongst others through developing technological products that improving the functioning of the global financial system.

The Solution Architect will report to the Head of the Singapore Centre. The Hub relies on a multi-disciplinary team that is committed to innovation. The focus of this role is to support the technology design, build and deployment of various Innovation Hub projects, particularly supporting the technical work for an on-going instant cross-border payments project that the Singapore Centre is spearheading (Project Nexus).

Nexus is an initiative by the BIS Innovation Hub to support the growth of instant cross-border payments. It aims to connect domestic instant payment systems (IPSs) to enable individuals and businesses to make cross-border payments that reach their destination in 60 seconds or less.

The BIS is convening a community of first movers to set up the desired target state architecture, operations and governance for Nexus. The Solution Architect would also support this next phase of work as the project’s Technical and Technology Lead.

**[What you will be working on]**
- Participate as a full member of the Nexus Team in all day-to-day activities including daily scrum meetings and team coordination meetings.
- Work with the Nexus Product Owner and the ASEAN Coordinator to keep track of project milestones and deliverables.
- Work with Instant payment system operators to complete functional gap analysis, finalize use cases, functional and non-functional requirements, and integration guides.
- Support the end-to-end agile product lifecycle from ideation, analysis, design, technical specifications, configurations, and deployment into cloud-based environments.
- Coordinate with BISIH ITS and cloud engineering teams to support project deployment in testing environments as needed.
- Support product owners to procure the necessary development resource, building relationships with potential vendors, assessing bids and managing technology vendors on an ongoing basis.
- Train, mentor and support Scrum teams to follow Agile values, principles, and practices. Willingness to play various Scrum roles, including Scrum Master, as/when needed.
- Work with Product Owners to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience, including senior stakeholders and potential end-users of the product.
- Coordinate the collaboration with other BIS Innovation Hub centres and central banks on these topics and related implications.

**[What we are looking for]**
- Experience in computer science, information system engineering or another technology-related field.
- Work experience in software engineering and knowledge of cloud computing (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- A track record of effective project and resource management, including successful design and delivery of technology solutions.
- You will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments.
