**Position Summary**:
The Financial and Trade Officer in a commodities company oversees the financial and trade operations related to the procurement, sale, and distribution of commodities (e.g., base metals, palm oil products). This role ensures smooth financial transactions, mitigates risks, and aligns trade activities with market and regulatory conditions.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Financial Operations**:

- Manage trade financing facilities such as letters of credit (L/Cs), bank guarantees, and trade credit insurance.
- Ensure timely payments and collections from clients and suppliers in accordance with trade agreements.
- Monitor cash flow related to commodity trading operations and prepare financial forecasts.

**2. Risk Management**
- Assess credit risk of trading counterparties and recommend risk mitigation measures.
- Monitor exposure to currency, interest rate, and price fluctuations in the commodities market.
- Work closely with hedging and derivatives teams to manage market risks.

**3. Trade Documentation**
- Prepare and review trade documents, including contracts, invoices, and shipping documents (e.g., bills of lading).
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and documentation standards.
- Coordinate with shipping and logistics teams to track shipments and resolve discrepancies.

**4. Market Analysis**
- Analyze global commodity market trends, pricing, and demand forecasts.
- Provide financial insights and reports to support strategic decision-making.

**5. Stakeholder Coordination**
- Liaise with banks, trade financiers, and insurance companies to secure funding and risk coverage.
- Collaborate with trading, legal, compliance, and logistics teams to align operations with company policies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and clients to foster trust and ensure long-term partnerships.

**6. Regulatory Compliance**
- Ensure all trade and financial operations comply with international and local trade laws, sanctions, and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
- Prepare and submit necessary reports to regulatory authorities and internal auditors.

**Job Requirements**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, International Trade, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications are a plus (e.g., CFA, FRM, CITF, or ACCA).

**Experience**:

- 3-5 years of experience in trade finance, commodities trading, or related financial roles.
- Prior experience in a commodities company or trading house is highly desirable.

**Skills**:
**1. Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in trade financing instruments (L/Cs, bank guarantees, etc.).
- Familiarity with risk management tools such as hedging, swaps, and futures.
- Knowledge of commodity trading platforms and systems.Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial modeling.
- **2. Soft Skills**
- Strong negotiation and communication skills to interact with banks, clients, and suppliers.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to handle complex trade scenarios.Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and compliance.
- **3. IT Skills**
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial software, and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of trade finance platforms (e.g., SWIFT, Bolero, or similar).
