English Language and Literature (ELL) Department
Requirements
Applicants should mínimally satisfy the following criteria:
- a PhD or EdD qualification in Psycholinguistics from a university of good international standing _(applicants who are nearing completion of their doctoral studies will be considered but PhD/EdD must be in hand at the time of appointment)_- an established track record of academic research, presentations, and relevant publications in reputable peer-reviewed international journals in Psycholinguistics, commensurate with the rank applied for- an established record of excellent teaching in relevant areas at undergraduate or graduate levels (preferably both)- Additional expertise in corpus linguistics is an advantage.
Additional requirements for Associate Professor:
- an excellent track record as an Assistant/Associate Professor at reputable universities- an excellent record in securing and managing competitive grants, producing impactful research results, and engaging in innovative, collaborative research- an established record of supervision in relevant areas at undergraduate and graduate levels- academic leadership and service at the departmental/university level or within professional organizations; and- a good international network of scholarly collaborators.
Responsibilities- contribute to teaching and course development at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as related activities such as thesis supervision and examination; and supervision of teaching practice- obtain competitive research funding, develop a robust research agenda and maintain a strong publication record- undertake administrative and/or leadership roles and contribute to other service-related activities at the department or institution level- establish partnerships with local and international researchers and practitioners to explore avenues for research and teaching that will create an impact in the discipline and/or educational practice; and- (For Associate Professor level) mentor junior faculty members and serve on NIE / NTU committees, and offer professional services to schools, to the Singapore Ministry of Education, and to other public education-related organizations if requested.

If selected to proceed to the next round, they will be invited for a campus visit where they will be expected to present a job talk and to conduct a lesson in their area of expertise for our students at NIE.
