**Responsibilities**:

- Design, develop, and implement data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse or data lake.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
- Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for performance and efficiency.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data quality and integrity issues.
- Perform data profiling, data cleansing, and data transformation tasks as necessary.
- Monitor and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data availability, reliability, and accuracy.
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate data engineering solutions into production systems.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and big data ecosystems.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior data engineers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a focus on data pipeline development and data integration.
- Strong programming skills in Java.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases.
- In-depth knowledge of big data ecosystems, including Hadoop, Spark, and Hive.
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and dimensional modeling.
- Proficient in data integration and ETL tools.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience mentoring junior team members is a plus.
