Pricing Analyst

Mercuria is a major player in the Physical and Financial Global Commodity markets, with major trading centres in London, Geneva, Houston, Singapore, Shanghai and Beijing. We actively trade in all the major commodity asset classes, from Crude and Refined oil products, to power & gas, coal and emissions, through to freight, metals, and agricultural products.

We operate a global diversified technology team across key hubs such as Geneva, London, Houston and Singapore, while operating in close partnership with some strategic co-development centres in Bucharest, Bangalore and Hyderabad. All running an Agile delivery model in unison with our business partners to deliver multi-asset-class commodity systems, with a focus on automation, user experience, innovation and control.

**The role

We are looking for a pricing analyst with interest to work in the Commodities industry who is passionate about pricing data and supporting enterprise-wide systems.

This role will report into the Pricing Support lead working on different business systems critical for the trading life cycle.

**Key responsibilities**
- Understanding and monitoring of price loading activities into CTRM systems.
- Work with users to resolve any pricing or trade valuation issues coming from prices.
- Running and debugging spreadsheets to ensure price load process completes successfully.
- Take appropriate actions to ensure that time-critical batch steps run. This may involve root cause analysis of issues and taking appropriate corrective actions (fixing curves, loading data manually etc.).
- Improve the end of day process to automate as much manual work as possible.
- Collaborate with development team to automate repeated manual tasks.
- Support in-house developed pricing systems.
- Monitor pricing systems availability and report issues pro-actively.
- Communicate with clients/vendors as required: inform/chase for incident progress, notify them of impending changes or agreed outages
- Good organizational skills in managing issues, projects and communicating to the stake holders.
- Fast turnaround of client requests
- Log and prioritize tickets in ServiceNow.
- Improve client service, perception, and satisfaction.

**Technical expertise**
- **5 **years of working experience in IT industry, IT related internships
- Minimum **3-5 **years of working experience in energy trading domain and supporting pricing.
- Working knowledge of using pricing systems like Reuters, Bloomberg, Morningstar etc.,
- Expertise of CTRM systems like Amphora Symphony, Openlink ENDUR etc.,
- Must have knowledge of pricing of some or all commodities Crude, Oil products, Agriculture, Metals, Coal, Bunkering etc.,.
- Working knowledge of forward curve construction.
- Good understanding of commodity markets and able to identify trends.
- Strong mathematical, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Must have experience working with Microsoft Excel and VBA development.
- Must have very strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server programming skills to adapt queries and stored procedures.
- Must have working knowledge of programming using.Net/JAVA/Python etc.,.
- Development experience using 3rd party libraries in Excel is an advantage.
