Risk Management Director

JOB SUMMARY

This employee will be based in ACG’s Singapore headquarters office and will report to ACG’s Chief Risk Officer (“CRO”). Employee will be responsible for assessing, managing and reporting on portfolio and credit/country risks on ACG projects in the Asia Pacific region, including China and India and Australia / NZ (“Asia”). A significant amount of travel, typically along with the ACG Marketing representatives in charge of customers in the region, is expected.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
- Staying abreast of the airline markets and customer developments in Asia
- Working with ACG Marketing and ACG Legal to resolve payment and other problems with airline customers in Asia. This will include designing and negotiating lease restructurings, as needed
- Working with the CRO and other ACG Risk Department team members on various other Risk initiatives within ACG including, but not limited to: 1) ongoing portfolio reviews; 2) special studies including market assessments and de-risking studies; and 3) internal reporting
- Traveling to complete due diligence on customers, markets, etc.
- Assessing the risks posed by different ACG leasing or financing projects in Asia and identifying potential mitigants (through transaction structuring or post-closing trading, etc.)
- Providing ACG Risk’s input to and concurrence on ongoing deal terms and final LOIs inked with customers
- Preparing Risk writeups that go into each ACG Transaction Approval Form submitted to senior management
- Contributing to, or leading, company efforts to resolve post-LOI problems with Asian customers or projects (such as customer delinquencies, rent deferral requests, aircraft delivery date adjustment negotiations, bankruptcies, and requests or demands for amendments to other lease terms etc.)
- Preparing market analyses and placement strategy recommendations and contributing to other ACG projects in Asia (such as recommending changes to or limits on concentrations or trading of selected exposures)
- Contributing to monthly watch lists, delinquency reports and other internal reports
- Assessing and advising the CRO, and ACG senior management, on Asia project risks and emerging market risks
- Proactively developing tools/ideas/new approaches to help ACG improve its risk management processes/decisions
- Supporting other ACG departments and offices as necessary

KEY DIMENSIONS
- Ability to develop and manage trustworthy relationships with airlines and within ACG
- Fluency with aircraft leases, aviation risk assessment, and lease enforcement

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY
- 7-10 years of compliance and risk experience
- Passion for aviation, familiarity with key industry risks and leasing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident and outgoing personality
- Finance and accounting expertise
- Ability to travel
- Graduate degree in business/finance/accounting or graduate law degree
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data analytics and risk metrics

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Office Environment
- Ability to use computer & software programs on a daily basis

ENVIRONMENT
- Amount of travel involved likely to be at least 50% of time
- Work will primarily be indoors
- Minimal expect exposure to machinery, extreme conditions
- Time spent sitting (85%), standing (10%), walking (5%)

Pay: $202,000.00 - $229,000.00 per year
