Job Details:
Job Summary: This position is responsible for the design, support and documentation of systems solutions for new or on-going projects for customers. The role will also be required to provide systems engineering support to development, services and operations teams and take ownership of engineering issues. Learning, understanding and providing assistance for technical matters relating to new and existing systems is key to this position.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide technical advice, analysis and troubleshooting for issue investigation and correction approaches
- Estimate, plan, schedule, and execute systems engineering activities
- Provide internal consultancy and be the technical reference point on project and technical related matters
- Maintain engineering and technical documents and work products
- Liaise with customers on project requirements and requested variations
- Analyse and capture user requirements using requirements management tools
- Support the production and maintenance of Solution Architecture and System Architecture documents
- Elaborate system and sub-system requirements and develop functional specifications
- Develop systems solutions based on functional specifications and system requirements
- Drive the integration of solutions both internal teams and external vendors.
- Work directly with Software and Test Engineers in order to deliver and develop solutions.
- Ensure that solutions comply with appropriate standards and legislation

Minimum Job Requirements:
Qualifications

Essential:

- Degree or equivalent in software or electrical engineering or related discipline

Desirable:

- INCOSE Certification (ASEP)

Skills/Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

- 2 years experience working in a software driven technology environment
- Formal Systems Engineering/Solution Architecture Experience
- Experience at a team level in development or technology integration teams
- Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycles using both Waterfall and Agile approaches
- Familiarity with expressing system designs using UML
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug technical issues
- Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and relevant Health and Safety legislative requirements
- Experience of working in a formal project structure following ISO 9001 processes
- Project experience with software development projects
- Experience in dealing at customer interface level

Desirable:

- SQL, data management and relational database skills
- Data modeling and system design using formal notations
- Project co-ordination experience
- Knowledge of embedded devices and technology, and engineered IT system solutions
- Familiar with a variety of operating systems such as windows, linux, etc.
- Experience with Enterprise Architect for systems modelling and DOORS for requirements management
- Familiar with standards such as ISO 27001, PCI
