Singapore Sembcorp Industries Ltd - SUT Full time

Purpose and Scope
This role shall conduct water / non-water (organic) sample analysis for internal & external customers. Other tasks include report preparations, reagent preparations, calibrations, and equipment troubleshooting.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
1) Follow the ISO17025 requirement in carrying out sample analysis from both internal and external customers
2) Verify analysis results and proper data input into the laboratory documentation system to ensure traceability
3) Calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy of results and maintain good conditions
4) Assist in maintain lab safety and risk assessment
5) Preparation of reagents and standards as required for testing
6) Maintain good housekeeping, proper waste disposal, and overall compliance to safety regulations
7) Assist in measurement uncertainty establishments

Major Challenges
1) Ensure accuracy of amount of chemicals taken when preparing reagents and standards
2) Manage differences in results of samples to ensure validity of test reports
3) Maintain laboratory equipment, including troubleshooting during breakdown

Key Decisions & Dimensions
1) Prepare reagents and standards
2) Perform calibration of laboratory equipment
3) Receive stock purchased and updating of stock inventory
4) Release spec quality results to respective individuals

Qualifications & Experience
1) Diploma in Science / Engineering
2) Minimum of 3-year working experience in an analytical laboratory testing environment
3) Working experience in an accredited laboratory is preferred

1) Independent, self-initiated, positive attitude, and able to deliver results within tight deadlines
2) Familiar with laboratory environment, calibrations, and quality system
3) Passionate, responsible, and take pride in work
4) Good team player and willingness to learn and adopt new ideas
