**Position Summary**
Reporting to Assistant Finance Manager, General Ledger of Shared Services Center, you will support and execute General Ledger related transactions to achieve better efficiency. This position is a maternity leave replacement for 9 months contract.
You will be responsible for the full scope of activity in the General Ledger, Fixed Assets and financial reporting shared services scope. Supporting the Assistant Finance Manager, General Ledger, you will strive for the best Record to Report practice processes and in accordance with corporate policy and meet statutory financial reporting and tax requirements. You will support the efficient and effective running of a shared services operations through driving process improvements and change. Meeting stakeholders requirements and performance KPIs will be key in this role.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare journal entries and maintain and upkeep a month-end close checklist for businesses to ensure completeness of book-keeping each month in a timely and orderly manner
- Ensure accurate update of the fixed asset registers
- Ensure accurate group elimination, carry out gross profit margin analysis and operating expenses review as part of the month end close process
- Support the Assistant Finance Manager in preparing all balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis as appropriate and ensuring these reconciliations are kept up to date
- Liaise with the local finance business unit (LBU) in-charge to ensure timely submission of their balance sheet reconciliations and that these reconciliations are kept up to date
- Assist in the submission of trial balance to the businesses within SLA deadlines, explaining the reason for any significant variances to budget/forecast
- Support preparation of the performance KPI measurement and monthly management reports for businesses managed by the Shared Service Center
- Keep abreast of accounting treatment and compliance with IFRS
- Support year end audits with the businesses
- Assist the Assistant Finance Manager in local compliance work - BAS/GST returns, Sales/ Franchise tax returns, Property tax and statistics returns required by the local authorities
- Support the Assistant Finance Manager
- Shared Services in any corporation tax related issues in accordance with local filing and regulatory requirements
- Any other matters as assigned by your immediate supervisor
**Required Skills and Experience**
- Diploma in accountancy with at least 5 years of hands on accounting experience. Preferably Degree in accountancy or Business Administration/ Studies with major in Accounting/ACCA
- Certified accountant or chartered accountant qualifications preferred.
- At least 4-6 years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- High learning agility and adaptability
- Ability to prioritize task, multi-task and meet deadlines
- Shared service environment and regional exposure is an added advantage
- Oracle NetSuite experience is an added advantage
