**Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD)**
The Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation was established as a non-profit organisation in August 2021 following the recommendation of the International Advisory Panel for Maritime Decarbonisation in 2020. The mission of this centre is to help the maritime industry eliminate its greenhouse gas emissions by shaping standards, deploying solutions, financing projects and fostering collaboration across sectors.
This centre is strategically located in Singapore, the world’s largest maritime bunkering hub and second largest transhipment container port, and will coordinate regional and global decarbonisation efforts. The centre has so far raised S$155 million from the Singapore government and the private sector to support its work.
