**JOB MISSION**:
New Balance’s Regional Sports Marketing Head leads and partners with athletes to nurture long-term partnerships to promote the brand. The position collaborates with cross functional brand and APAC business partners to ensure that our sponsored athletes align with brand management and marketing locally and globally to drive sustainable results.
Additionally, this role oversees New Balance APAC’s Running portfolio and strategy, tracks key measures and metrics to improve business results and achieve annual performance objectives.
**MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
- Craft and execute Sports Marketing strategies for the region, negotiates endorsements and licensing agreements and serves as New Balance ambassadors to the sports community in APAC region.
- Develop tiered athlete plans to ensure maximum value gained for each tier
- Map athletes to key geographic and seasonal strategies for the region
- Accurate budget and forecast management
- Collect insights about existing and future running products, gather inspirational stories about sport from New Balance’s athletes.
- Facilitate New Balance athletes’ connection to the product creation process to help drive innovation, performance, and style both on and off the field of play.
- Evaluate the marketplace to better understand the broad spectrum of consumer product, market, and technology trends in running. Tailor strategic shifts based on consumer behavior, interests, and marketplace needs across APAC and develop desired financial outcome.
- Leverage sports marketing and athlete relationships, forecast business opportunities across the region to drive continued growth and success of New Balance.
- Build and maintain key partnerships across New Balance’s business functions, as well as with key athletes and influencers within the region, including athletes, agents, coaches, and federations.
**REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS**
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, or International Studies, or Marketing or related field, with 10 years solid leadership experience in Sports Marketing in the Running category
- Solid Sports Footwear industry experience
- Experience working across various footwear categories
- Strong business acumen including expertise in financial practices, P&L management, operations, etc. and experience in long-range, annual, product and financial planning
- Proven track record of leveraging athlete insights and key sporting moments to drive integrated athlete marketing and brand plans across multi-cultural markets
- Self-motivated, with sense of urgency.
- People-first mindset, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with an ability to lead and operate in a matrix environment.
- Frequent internationally travel required.
