**Industrialization & Process Innovation Engineer, Powder**
As an IPI Engineer, you are responsible to carry out a wide array of activities running through New Product Development (NPD) to Product Commercialisation as part of the end-to-end process. You will be trained to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Powder Flavor Technologies involving Spray Drying, Dry Blending and Thermal Reaction, and leading out process related activities such as troubleshooting and process continuous improvement for Symrise. In consideration, you will receive great exposure to various challenging yet exciting improvement projects, working in a highly collaborative environment with supportive colleagues here at Symrise Asia Pacific.
**The Position**:
- Assess New Product Development (NPD) and be responsible for successful scale up and first production in Singapore
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) including new process and projects as required
- Responsible to provide accurate mixing instructions to production
- Daily presence in the field and support to production
- Lead and document investigation on quality deviations, customer complaints, manufacturing deviations with multi-functional team
- Keep Production operators informed on product and process safety
- Create new working instructions and train Production operators accordingly
- Contribute to product/process optimization to increase profitability
- Ensure best in class First Time Right by proactive troubleshooting during production
- Work closely with cross-departments and various key stakeholders such as Research and Technology (R&T), Supply Chain (Customer service, Production, Planning and Procurement), Quality, Engineering, Sales & contractors / suppliers to carry out various activities
- Execute qualification/validation of new processes and equipment
- Contribute further to improvement projects such as safety, productivity, quality & profit
- Work with Assistant Engineer to schedule scale up testing/trials
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Food Technology, Pharmaceutical or related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Experienced and passionate in Continuous Improvement
- Skilful with Manufacturing Systems and Processes
- Exceptional problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong ability to work well in a team and independently
- Excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access
- Prior experience in supervisory/leadership role is an added advantage
- Prior working experience in Minitab or other analytical software is an added advantage
- Prior experience in Lean/ Six Sigma Improvement is an added advantage
