Principal Subsea Systems Engineer

Location: Remote, APAC.

India, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Australia.

Role Summary

Infinera provides leading edge submarine network solutions in an era of open cable systems, ensuring a reliable on-time deployment that scales with our customers’ bandwidth needs.

Infinera’s highly successful submarine team is expanding and looking for a customer facing sales team representative working with account directors focused on specific accounts. Perform technical tasks, including written proposals, network design and engineering and quotes. Highly motivated professional, able to work independently, must be able to communicate solutions to customers and manage ongoing technical relationship. Also work with internal Infinera organization to drive product requirements and provide customer feedback to product management.

**Job Description**:

- Presales technical support for Infinera subsea business in EMEA as a subsea SLTE solutions architect
- Provide product and technical expertise to support sales efforts of Infinera subsea SLTE and related solutions (e.g. terrestrial transport, NMS, DCN)
- Ownership of subsea SLTE network design, bill of material, solution descriptions and presentations
- Expertise in use of Infinera network design and modelling tools
- Assist with preparation of customer proposals and quotations
- Support Infinera sales and project team with closing orders and implementation delivery of network solutions
- Support sales and project team as a technical expert
- Assist with technical marketing of Infinera solutions as well as providing customer and market feedback in terms of trends and solution requirements

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's or Master 's degree in Telecommunication, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent technical degree
- Technical expertise in submarine network and SLTE design. Subsea business experience.
- Technical knowledge in optical networking (i.e. DWDM, ROADM, OTN). Understanding of data networking (Ethernet, IP) desired.
- Exhibit a high degree of presentation, interpersonal and communications skills
- Proven ability to work in a team oriented environment, participating in solutions architecture discussions
- Experience with responding to RFP/RFQ and technical quotations
- 5-7 years industry experience
- Fluency in English
