Quantity Surveyor

Job Description & Requirements

- Based in Singapore, DPR’s Asia Pacific operations bring global, technical and construction expertise to the Asia Pacific region. A BCA registered contractor, DPR specializes in the commercial, advanced technology and life sciences markets. _

The Quantity Surveyor should have at least 5 years of commercial experience. He/She will be responsible and accountable for all financial aspects of the project and report to the Project Manager.

He/She will work closely with all members of the Project Team and will be responsible for the following:
**Proposal Stage**

During the proposal stage the Quantity Surveyor in conjunction with the Proposals Team contributes, if applicable, to:

- Preparing the budget and prelims build-up
- Obtaining Contractor bids and compiling the pricing documentAssist in the preparation of the final proposal document.

**Pre-Construction Stage**
- Production of Procurement Strategy document for approval by the professional team and Client (in conjunction with the Project Manager)
- Pre Qualification of Trade Contractors not on the approved database.
- Production of Trade Package Procurement Document in conjunction with Team Leader/Nominated Manager and Construction Manager for issue to Design Team and for use in production of bid documentation
- Budgeting and Costing - Comments on existing Cost Plan, prepare a detailed cost plan for monitoring costs of the Project
- Procurement - Prepares Proposed List of Tenderers in conjunction with the Project Manager and the Construction Manager, if applicable; monitors the Tender Event Schedule; compiles the trade contract bid documents, carries out tender analysis and issues Purchase Orders; instructs Contractors; advises on product selection, specifications; assists with value engineering; advises on the selection of Trade ContractorsInformation Control - assists with the distribution of drawings and other relevant information.

**Construction Stage**
- Procurement - Continues the pre-construction tasks
- Attends Design Team meetings and Contractor meetings as appropriate
- Assist in control of all drawings and other information
- Manages Change Orders in conjunction with the Project Manager: Analyses impact on overall costs and program; Offers alternative solutions; Raises Change Orders, and maintains Change Order Log; Agrees fixed price with Client's team and Contractors
- Prepares and issues Addendum Purchase Orders
- Valuations - Prepares, submits and agrees on periodic valuations for work completed to date with Contractors and the ClientCost Control and Reporting: prepares Final Account Reconciliation; creates a regular budget and price updates; updates computerised Cost Control System; prepares the Monthly Cost and Progress Report.

**Post-Construction Stage**

The Quantity Surveyor will assist in the close out of the project including:

- Agreeing final accounts with Trade Contractors and the Clients representatives
- Closing the project financially
- Organising the archiving of project documentationPreparing draft and final Cost Value Reconciliation and Cost Report Reconciliation.

- Experience in commercial management of sub-contractors including procurement, valuations and final accounts
- Knowledge and experience of dispute resolution
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Project and Accounting Cost Management software (Procore or similar).
- 5+ years of experience, preferably within DPR’s core markets
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying or other commercially related discipline
- A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude
- Preferably have good knowledge of Corporate Fit-out.
