**Roles & Responsibilities**

The Regional Business coordinator is a key position within SMBC’s Global Markets Business Unit in Asia. This investment banking business unit deals extensively in FX and Rates products and consequently the role is tasked with coordinating strategic projects based out of our regional headquarters in Singapore. The key focus of this role will be on coordinating with our head office in Tokyo on various aspects to do with running our business in more than 10 APAC countries. The role will also help with reporting to Tokyo on regulatory reform initiatives will also drive Risk & Governance consistency in the wider region from a Head Office policies and procedures perspective. The role will partner with seniors in the Markets business, Country Heads, Operations, Compliance, Internal Audit, and work on initiatives in all matters of technology, planning, risk & governance frameworks, regulatory reform.

**Responsibilities**:

- Survey and report to TKY on the impact of regulatory changes in each region on our APAC branches. This will involve responding to collecting information from branches, and responding to questionnaires prepared by the project team in Tokyo.
- Provide Market risk-related risk management status report based on HO rules, and detailed analysis on customer flows in APAC branches
- Collect, and report on Financial Statement related data, and be the Tokyo liaison for matters such as intra-group transactions, transfer pricing, and transaction balance reporting
- Enhance the Risk and Governance framework from a Head Office point of view. Areas to be worked on would be creating a model inventory, enhancing the model risk management framework
- Partner with senior management teams to deliver financial objectives, prioritize and drive execution of key initiatives, and ensure cohesive team work across the businesses and functions
- Appropriately assess franchise risk, governance and controls when regional decisions are made.
- Coordinate and work closely with Risk, Compliance, Finance, Legal and other control functions to enhance the relationship with the treasury department

**Job Requirements**
- University Degree. Proficiency in Japanese is advantageous as this role would require heavy interaction with SMBC departments in the Tokyo head office whose main language is Japanese.
- Knowledge of the FX and Rates product set
- Knowledge of end-to-end trade flow including execution, back office settlement processes and linkage of Front Office systems to downstream systems
- Experience in managing business controls, franchise risk and governance is required
- Experience in technology management, strategic planning, project management, and legal vehicle management
