Job Title: Student Financial Advisor

Reports To: Financial Services Director

Job Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and empathetic Student Financial Advisor to support students in managing their financial aid, scholarships, and personal finances. This role requires advising students on budgeting, loan management, financial aid packages, and creating personalized financial plans to help them achieve their academic and financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Advise students on financial aid options, including scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study programs.
- Assist students in understanding and managing their student loan repayments and budgets.
- Conduct one-on-one financial advising sessions to provide personalized guidance on financial matters.
- Develop and conduct financial literacy workshops for students to promote effective budgeting and financial decision-making.
- Stay up to date with federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and policies.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and ensure confidentiality.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as admissions and student services, to provide integrated support.

Qualifications:

- Diploma/ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- Strong understanding of financial aid processes and student loans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to students.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Prior experience in financial advising, education, or related fields is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

- Familiarity with financial aid systems (e.g., FAFSA, institutional financial aid portals).
- Experience in developing and presenting financial literacy content.
