SCIENTIST/SENIOR SCIENTIST (MONITORING & EVALUATION)

NATIONAL CENTRE FOR FOOD SCIENCE

Officer will be expected to:

- Manage the development and implementation of epidemiological studies to understand the source, risk, and transmission patterns of emerging foodborne zoonotic diseases
- Support the cross-agency development of a framework for biosurveillance for data sharing and prioritisation of disease indicators
- Analyse and make-sense of genomic and epidemiological data using appropriate programming tools
- Create appropriate visualisations to communicate scientific insights effectively
- Conduct translational research that would lead to publication in peer-reviewed journals
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams responsible for the national food safety monitoring programme

**Requirements**:

- Knowledge in bioinformatics programming and tools (e.g. genome sequence and phylogenetic analysis) is highly advantageous
- Proficient at using R and at least one data visualisation software (e.g. Tableau or PowerBI)
- Good interpersonal skills and highly driven, with the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills with good report-writing and presentation abilities
- Track record of relevant peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals is an advantage
