You will be part of a team of alpha technologists developing platforms for investment teams and quantitative researchers, allowing GIC to harness our differentiated quantitative methods at scale.

**What will you do as a Software Developer (Investment Insights Group)?**

Our team of Software Developers, whom we call “Alpha Technologists”, develop platforms for investment teams and quantitative researchers, allowing GIC to harness our differentiated quantitative methods at scale.
- You will be involved in developing digital products across the investment value chain - research, due diligence, portfolio construction, optimization, order execution and portfolio management.
- As a person with strong analytical skills, you will use your technology know-how to bring value directly to the business. You will also be exposed to end-to-end investment processes, learning valuable business domain knowledge
- Participate in fast-paced agile projects and have the opportunity to work with modern technologies, such as ReactJS, Python, Docker and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- You will perform hands-on analysis of the technical, data and business functions and workflows to evaluate current state systems and processes and recommend target state roadmap and operating model, devise implementation plan and ensure delivery
- As an excellent team player with a collaborative mind-set, you will work directly with investment professionals at different levels. You will also work alongside experienced professionals across our extended Digital Products team to drive interoperability, build common capabilities and promote reusability across investment groups
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in front-end/back-end/full stack software development
- Willingness to learn, demonstrating a strong passion in technology and/or finance
- Programming skills or work experience in Python, Java or similar OOP languages
- Development experience in modern JavaScript web frameworks (preferably ReactJS)
- Comfortable with development tools/debugging across languages e.g. Python/Javascript and their intersection
- Confident with self-help navigation and understanding of codebases. Prior contribution to Github projects would be a plus
- Knowledge or experience using SQL, and relational databases
- Knowledge or experience using Unix, Shell scripting, Docker will be added advantage
- Good team player, possesses strong analytical, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
