**What the role is**

Deputy Manager (PR & Media)

**What you will be working on**
- Work with academic schools and departments to plan, craft and write/edit thought-leadership pieces for Temasek Polytechnic (TP)
- Strategise with schools and departments on core USPs, key programmes and events for publicity value
- Pitch and promote stories to both digital and mainstream media
- Maintain and grow strong relationships with the media - both in terms of mainstream and digital content publishers
- Develop and implement publicity campaigns for key announcements such as partnerships, launches and poly-wide events
- Plan annual communications plan to grow awareness of TP’s programmes, successes and events
- Write blog posts, quotes, speeches, media invites and releases, briefing documents and Q&As to maximise media opportunities
- Develop talking points and prepare spokespersons from senior management to student representatives for media interviews
- Offer advice to stakeholders on strategy and tactics to raise TP’s profile across IHLs
- Manage and attend media interviews and media events for TP
- Co-ordinate TP’s crisis management responses and prepare appropriate drawer statements

**What we are looking for**
- Excellent communication skills with at least 8 years of PR and media management experience
- Good eye for story angles, with the ability to think creatively in seeing opportunities for amplification
- Strong writing and editorial skills
- Good track record of generating media coverage
- Close networks with media
- Organisational skills with the ability to multi-task across projects within tight deadlines
- Strategic thinker, familiar with a wide range of media tactics
- Team-player, able to work across work groups and departments within TP
