**COMPANY DESCRIPTION**
The Salvation Army in Singapore first cared for women and girls through our work shelter programmes in the 1930s. Today, the same compassion to care for women is carried on by helping foreign domestic workers who are caught in challenging circumstances and require the need for shelter.
We are partnering with the Centre of Domestic Employees, a non-governmental organisational arm of the National Trade Union Congress, to operate a residential care programme for sheltered foreign domestic workers.
Through thoughtful and nurturing programmes, we will work towards improving the well-being of the sheltered foreign domestic workers with the aim of guiding them to be more resilient and to feel cared for.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
As a Programme Assistant, you will be an integral part of a compassionate care team at Carehaven, working to ensure safety, order, and meaningful engagement for the residents. You will play a key role in equipping residents with the resilience and skills needed to overcome their challenges, all within a 24/7 residential care environment.
**1. Service Standards**:
- **Resident Support**:Embrace Carehaven's mission to deliver quality care for residents, ensuring professional and purposeful relationships with both residents and the team.
- **Communication**:Provide prompt feedback on residents' progress, needs, and concerns through proper documentation and communication channels.
- **Holistic Care**:Work in line with residents' care plans, collaborating with shelter partners to meet their needs and best interests.
- **Group Activities**:Plan and facilitate small or community group activities to foster bonding and help women develop life skills, resilience, and self-help abilities.
- **Routine and Activity Support**:Monitor and support the daily activities and routines, ensuring smooth operation of the shelter's activities, run by both staff and volunteers.
- **Event Support**:Provide support for special events or visits from authorized parties.
- **Safety and Order**:Ensure the safety and order of the premises, immediately reporting any issues or concerns that may pose risks to the residents or the shelter.
- **Incident Management**:Respond to incidents on-site according to protocols and report them promptly to management.
- **Confidentiality**:Adhere to confidentiality guidelines in all communication and documentation, safeguarding the dignity and privacy of the women in the shelter.
- **Facility Maintenance**:Conduct checks and patrols to ensure safety, cleanliness, and flag any building defects that could pose hazards.
- **Manpower Support**:Provide coverage and additional support as needed, ensuring the smooth running of the shelter.
- **Respect for Rights**:Uphold the rights of individuals and organizations we serve, respecting privacy and confidentiality in all client interactions.
**2. Administration**:
- **Meetings**:Attend all required meetings as scheduled.
- **Open Communication**:Foster open and honest communication, ensuring timely feedback on a range of issues.
- **Professional Development**:Participate in seminars, workshops, and training sessions to continually develop professionally.
- **Additional Duties**:Support management with other secondary or ad-hoc tasks as needed.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- GCE N or O-level
- A good communicator
- Work in collaboration with the team
**OTHER INFORMATION**
**Working Hours**
18 hours per week.
4 days per week, 1.30pm to 6.00 pm
