We are seeking a dynamic **Junior Data Engineer** to join our Regional Data team to help foodpanda make smart, data-driven business decisions. We maintain data ingestion pipelines while creating and maintaining products and frameworks to empower teams to craft insights and build quality data products.

**Responsibilities**
- Architecting, defining, and building data pipelines to enable faster, better, data-informed decision-making.
- Ingesting first and third-party data sources into our petabyte-sized data warehouse.
- Curating and maintaining high-quality data assets so our data scientists and analysts can make informed decisions and create better products.
- Creating and maintaining tools that enable data consumers to use our data better.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data assets.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education or practical experience.
- Overall at least 1-2 years of experience in software engineering.
- Ability to write clean, structured, and high-performance SQL and production-ready Python code with appropriate documentation.
- Strong understanding of software fundamentals, such as data structures and test-driven development.
- Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment with a growth mindset.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Strong business mindset and ability to grasp business requirements from stakeholders.
- Experience with big data, data warehouse technologies would be a plus.
- Experience with Airflow, Terraform, GCP and AWS would be an added advantage.
