Director/associate Director, Business Intelligence

**Role purpose**
- Taking a lead role in winning and delivering complex business intelligence engagements and ensuring the highest quality of service delivery.
- Helping to develop and execute a market strategy for the Business Intelligence practice across South-East Asia.
- Leading, motivating, and developing a team of high-performing consultants
- Demonstrating superior client and account management skills. Building long-lasting and meaningful client relationships.
- Driving innovation to enhance Control Risks’ client solutions.
- As part of the South-East Asia Business Intelligence management team, foster a positive and inclusive environment for the team.
**Role tasks and responsibilities**
Case work
- Oversee a variety of business intelligence and investigative assignments across South-East Asia.
- Manage output from direct reports and other team members, ensuring rigorous quality control and the highest standards of service delivery.
- Ensure projects are priced, structured, and managed effectively to deliver on profit and within margin targets
Business Development & Strategy
- Identify and secure new client relationships through pro-active business development efforts.
- Manage and grow existing client relationships and ensure that we best meet our client's requirements for investigations and dispute support work.
- Ensure proposals focus on our clients' requirements and our ability to meet them, and that our proposals stay ahead of the market by incorporating clients' feedback and service innovation.
- Regular engagement with clients to understand how their requirements are evolving and ensure this is fed into discussions about products and services we are developing.
- Represent Control Risks at events and other business development functions and assist in developing Control Risks’ profile within the region.
- Work closely with other regional Control Risks teams on business development initiatives, supporting the growth of Control Risks’ brand in the region
Client relationships
- Foster thriving client relationships, including exploiting cross-selling opportunities to relevant parts of the business
- Grow client accounts to higher and broader levels of service; expand the relationship by service and geography
- Play an active role in generating new client leads for the business.
- Practice management
- Develop and coach a high-performing practice team. Manage performance and offer specialist training in order to develop practice team.
- Identify and resolve skill gaps and play a leading role recruitment and retention of high calibre consultants in consultation with local management.
- Contribute to good cash flow by invoicing in a timely fashion and participating in the collection process.
Working Culture
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative environment between practice areas, offices, and regions.
- Ensure that pricing, margins, and value are understood in the team to ensure we capture lower and higher margin opportunities.
- Collaborate with the regional Compliance, Forensics and Intelligence teams and other service lines on global business development initiatives.
**Requirements**:
- Demonstrate expert knowledge and understanding of the full suite of business intelligence services, including reputational due diligence, problem solving investigations, litigation support and asset tracing, and strategic and commercial intelligence.
- Ability to advise and consult with clients on a range of business risks relating to compliance, integrity, FCPA, anti-money laundering, sanctions, reputation management and political exposure.
- Track record of selling and delivering complex business intelligence and investigative assignments.
- Proven ability to work effectively with sources and subcontractors to gather intelligence.
- An expert understanding of commercial and political trends across South-East Asia.
- An extensive network of intelligence resources and contacts across South-East Asia.
- Experience managing and developing consultants and investigators.
- Fluency in a major South-East Asian language is preferred
- Undergraduate degree in related field
- Competency in and in-depth knowledge of OSINT research and analysis
- Professional qualifications such as CFE, CAMS or other related accreditations welcomed
- Excellent communication, listening and negotiation skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple commitments under time pressure.
- Demonstrable commercial acumen when planning and pricing projects.
