We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a **Regional Head of Business Finance - CMB Asia Pacific**.

**Role Purpose**
Lead business finance for CMB Asia Pacific, maintaining a common global operating framework and delivering strategic financial business support while maintaining a strong controllership environment.

Deliver strong business partnering to the CMB business in Asia Pacific with key stakeholder management via relevant, timely, insightful and forward looking analysis.

Drive, support and advocate CMB’s Revenue, Cost, FTE, Margin, RWA, Capital, Returns and Performance.

Maintain a cohesive cost efficient structure delivering consistent, timely and accurate financial analytics.

Utilise globally consistent management information and reporting framework, providing key financial and non-financial information to business to support achievement of CMB strategy.

Participate as a member of Asia Pacific CMB Executive Committee and various supporting committees.

Support central investor relations work to ensure CMB is appropriately represented externally.

Lead region business strategic cost management activities ensuring cost targets are achieved and appropriate level of rigor is applied to achieve sustainable cost save targets.

Identify region and country trends, opportunities and threats leading to options for business action. Ensure that stakeholders fully understand the inherent risks and rewards, including the regulatory and tax implications, and assist in finding compliant solutions to support business growth.

Drive and control the financial implications of CMB’s strategic model to maximize returns and long-term financial sustainability.

Provide oversight of internal process / procedure with financial implications e.g. transfer pricing, behaviouralisation, liquidity premium, IT / Ops unit costing, attributable and allocated costs, referral mechanisms.

**Principal Accountabilities**:
**Impact on the Business/Function**
- Assist in external reporting with GCMB CFO, Finance Director - GCMB and other group functions, in particular HBAP, HSBC Holdings plc Annual Report, Interim Management Statements and any investor relations presentations including CMB content
- Implement internal management reporting, overall MI and ad hoc papers for Head of Asia CMB reporting requirements. Also support CMB financial reporting for HSBC Holdings Board, FEC, CMB EXCO, RMM etc as required
- Play a strategic role in evaluating financial success of core strategies and key investments. Oversee regulatory/global capital used by Asia CMB.
- Ensure proactive management of controllable cost base
- Complete the implementation of financial & non-financial tools and reports that identify key business drivers and associated KPIs that guide management decision making and contribute to strategy formulation. Continually seek better ways to convert financial/non-financial data into intelligence that feeds improved business performance
- As an integrated part of the business team, working with Group strategy develop valuation models to determine the income statement and balance sheet impact of proposed acquisition and disposals
- Lead annual financial planning process and estimate update for the region including preparation of summary analytics and presentations
- Development and analysis of product/segment P&Ls as appropriate
- Providing insight as to business performance and competitiveness versus competition
- Lead regional implementation of Level 1 & 2 metrics; drive elimination of non-standard MI
- Lead business case preparation and management for the region ensuring sound financial analysis and strategic alignment
