Becoming a Shadow Support Teacher can be a rewarding career path for individuals who are passionate about working with children in an educational setting. As a Shadow Support Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of students who require additional support. While previous experience is preferable, it is not always necessary as training is typically provided.

As a Shadow Support Teacher, you will provide support to students who have special needs in schools. You will be fully supervised and trained by a program director.

**Your Key Responsibilities**:

- Provides specific intervention support to children on a 1-1 basis in the areas of academic, behaviour, learning, social and communication skills
- Helps the classroom teacher understand the student’s strengths, challenges and learning difficulties
- Integrates students into the classroom/school
- Liaises with parents or teachers, therapists and case managers to ensure holistic support and update on progress
- Performs administrative duties

**Requirements**:

- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- A passion for working with children
- Relevant experience and expertise working with children
- Experience working with students with special needs is preferred
