And if that’s you we would love to have you join us **Job Description**: **Position Summary** This sourcing engineer role is critical resource to support all new product development with 3rd party suppliers and responsible for product lifecycle management. Responsible to support and implement overall Rockwell Strategic Sourcing strategy. Achieve year-on-year improvements by executing local, regional, and global supply chain projects and initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align on business requirements and implement sourcing and commodity strategies. Acts as technical interface between suppliers and Business Units & Engineering, specifically on components selection to drive for supply resiliency. Develop and execute supplier development programs. **Key responsibilities** **Supplier management and development** - Responsible for key suppliers’ development and sustain supplier relationships to achieve organizational objectives - Leading supplier performance review, selection and qualification to ensure that suppliers are conforming to organizational expectations and requirement - Drive and execute development/improvement programs to achieve target (e.g., lead-time reduction, process improvement). - Support Value-Engineering-Value-Analysis (VAVE) initiatives - engage suppliers & Business Unit/Engineering on continuous improvement. - Keep abreast of design, product, and market requirements from Business Units and in turn share market and suppliers’ developments. **Product lifecycle management** - Responsible for sourcing materials and RFQ, frequently review material lists of critical components necessary to maintain the new product release schedules. - Determine stocking strategies, should the new product be stocked or built to order at Available-For-Customer (AFC) date. Responsible for component and finished goods inventory levels both at time of product launch and at product discontinuation. - Lead discussions with the Master Scheduler/Finished Goods Planner and plant Production Control Analysts to review inventory planning parameters required to successfully launch a product and maintain its supply chain health during initial production ramp-up or product phase-out. - Support for End-Of-Life material planning activities for product discontinuation to minimize inventory impact due to obsolescence. This requires a high level of materials project management since this may include manually monitoring inventory levels outside of the materials system. **Education and Experience Requirements** - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred or Supply Chain management or similar - APICS and PMP certification preferred - 5+ years of sourcing/supplier management experienced in manufacturing environment - Experienced in managing contract manufacturers and/or direct material (e.g., Semiconductors and PCBA) - Experience improving supplier performance and supply chain process improvement - NPI Project management experience preferred - Well-rounded knowledge in strategic sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing, and operational procurement **Key Competency Requirements** - Strong Analytical skills and result driven - Ability to work in a matrix environment consisting of multiple internal and external customers - Good knowledge of the market conditions and commodity trend - technology, supply chain, supply & demand dynamics and so on - Effective negotiations, communication, interpersonal skills - Appreciate cultural sensitivity to manage relationships across global boundaries and time zones **Travel** This position will be required to travel when necessary (< 20%) to Rockwell Automation and supplier locations - The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to the job.
