As a Data Centre ACMV Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and overseeing the installation of Air Conditioning, Mechanical Ventilation, and Plumbing (ACMV) systems. Your expertise in ACMV engineering will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of the data centre facilities.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- ACMV System Design: Collaborate with the project team to design and develop efficient and reliable ACMV systems for data centre projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Equipment Selection and Specification: Evaluate and select appropriate ACMV equipment, components, and materials based on project requirements, energy efficiency considerations, and cost-effectiveness.
- Technical Drawings and Documentation: Prepare detailed technical drawings, including ACMV layouts, ductwork and piping designs, equipment schedules, and specifications, using industry-standard software and tools.
- Coordination and Collaboration: Work closely with architects, electrical engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to coordinate the integration of ACMV systems with other building systems and ensure seamless installation.
- HVAC Load Calculations: Conduct comprehensive heat load calculations, airflow analysis, and ventilation rate calculations to size equipment and optimize system performance.
- Compliance with Codes and Standards: Stay abreast of relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, local building codes) and ensure ACMV designs comply with these requirements.
- Construction Oversight: Monitor the installation and construction of ACMV systems, conduct site inspections, and provide technical guidance to contractors to ensure compliance with design intent and project specifications.
- Testing, Commissioning, and Handover: Develop and oversee ACMV testing and commissioning procedures, conduct performance testing, and collaborate with commissioning agents to ensure systems are operating optimally before handover.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Provide technical support during the construction phase, troubleshoot ACMV system issues, and propose effective solutions to ensure timely project completion.
- Documentation and Reporting: Create comprehensive documentation, including design reports, equipment submittals, test records, and as-built drawings, to support project documentation requirements.
**Key Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in ACMV engineering, preferably within data centre or mission-critical facility projects, with a focus on design and construction phases.
- Proficiency in ACMV design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Carrier HAP) for creating technical drawings, load calculations, and system analysis.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC principles, mechanical ventilation, cooling systems, and plumbing systems, including pumps, piping, and water treatment.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards
- Experience in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and contractors to ensure seamless integration of ACMV systems with other building systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex ACMV engineering issues.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Professional certifications (e.g., Professional Engineer license, LEED accreditation) and memberships in relevant industry organizations are desirable.
