North Singapore Metta Welfare Association Full time

The Metta Home for the Disabled and Metta Home Day Activity Centre were set up in December 2000 to offer community care options to adults with intellectual disabilities who are aged between 18 and 55.

Funded by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), the former is a purpose-built facility designed to accommodate 103 residents, whereas the latter is supported under the MSF and Tote Board Social Service Fund to provide day care services for a capacity of 50 beneficiaries. Our programmes aim to equip all recipients with the skills and means to lead independent and fulfilling lives, so as to achieve social integration and quality of life.

Tending them with holistic care and working closely with their primary caregivers to provide well-rounded support is a multi-disciplinary team comprising a social worker, training officers, staff nurses, assistant nurses, nursing, and therapy aides.

**1. Supporting of clients**
- Cares for and ensures clients’ safety, hygiene, and cleanliness.
- Plan, support and implement approved programmes and services of the DAC.
- Support clients in the maintenance/development of daily living skills and community living skills.
- Support and train clients in the maintenance/development of acceptable pro-social and behavioural skills
- Engage in continuous assessment, training and evaluation of clients’ holistic development.
- Maintain and develop proper system of administration of client’s ICP; attendance and training programme records; and other administrative records in accordance to Best Practice Guidelines
- Record significant behaviors for intervention in ABC Charts
- Report and record in incident reports critical clients’ occurrences/events
- Implement routine checks on physiological and psychological well-being of clients.
- Record information pertaining to individual clients in Client’s Log e.g. communications to/from caregivers and occurrences
- Communicate and maintain good rapport with parents/caregivers.
- Cooperate with caregivers in supporting client’s development and progress.
- Ensure that volunteers are working towards the organizational interest, objectives and goals.
- Work as a team and participate positively and actively to ensure quality service delivery that is in line with the mission, goals and objectives of the Organisation.
- Recommend and implement new programmes for client’s benefit.
- Plan and implement motivational and behavior management plans for clients.

**2. Others**
- Attend and participate in agency events and fund-raising activities when required.
- To ensure that safety rules, regulations and procedures are observed.
- To adhere to safe management measures (SMM) protocol at all times.
- Any other tasks as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Experience in the Disability Care sector would be preferred
- Minimum Sec/ N/O levels and/or any related certificates in disability care
- Ability to work both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Hardworking, meticulous and responsible.
- Good communications/interpersonal skills

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 830am to 530pm

Working Location Available: Marsiling and Hougang

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $1,600.00 - $2,500.00 per month
