**Responsibilities**:
CIEE is seeking to hire the Academic and Chinese Program Director [ACLPD] to support all academic programs offered at CIEE Singapore and serve as a core faculty member in the Open Campus Block program. The ACLPD is a teacher and communicator with students. The ACLPD oversees the coordination, quality, and planning of all courses and educational programming year-round for CIEE Singapore. The ACPLD will manage a team of instructors and will take responsibility for the effective, timely, and on-budget delivery of these program aspects:
**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate the academic program in cooperation with host institution faculty and CIEE staff
- Maintain and develop the Center’s curriculum; write, edit and review course syllabi
- Act as the first point of contact for any student requests for special academic exceptions, complaints, appeals etc.; faculty advising, training, courses improvement, program development
- Manage the hiring, selection, training and mentoring of Open Campus Blocks and adjunct faculty; conducts and writes up classroom observations of CIEE courses and teaching practice.
- Provide analysis of pre-registration data and collaborates with CIEE staff on course offerings, cancellation and new course development.
- Communicate with Academic Affairs, Registration, and other centers to update academic policies, ensure uniform implementation of policies across sites.
- Manage the submission of grades and course data to the CIEE Registrar at the end of each block or instructional period. Analyze student evaluations and design action plans to improve academic experience and teaching quality.
- Assist in training and program development activities.
- Organize and implement high school programs, co-curricular, extracurricular and cultural learning activities and all site visit activities related to Chinese learning
- Teach Chinese courses as and when is necessary.
- Manage all aspects of the academic programs in accordance with CIEE academic policies and agreements; manage relationship with local host institutions.
- Participate in the writing of academic program materials (promotional academic materials, catalogue copy, pre-departure reading list, course syllabi, curricula vitae of teachers, information concerning the country, the location and the host institution).
- Assist as needed in the development and implementation of new CIEE programs, such as customized programs, CIEE Annual Conference sessions.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- At least a Master's degree is required, with a preference for specialization in Chinese language pedagogy.
- Seasoned professional with at least 3-year management experience, preferably in study abroad, international education exchange, or related not-for-profit organization
- In-depth knowledge of Chinese culture and society, and first-hand knowledge of U.S. and Chinese academic institutions and their culture
- Good organizational skills and proven experience developing, implementing, and managing projects and processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school officials, and to work well with colleagues as both a team leader and team player
- Proficiency with Microsoft suite of software and proven interest in using technology to improve business functions
