Junior UI

**Description of Internship, Roles and Scope of work**:
The UI / UX Design Intern will be a key member of a feature squad in TVS Digital which has a mission to deliver innovative and high-quality digital products. The UI / UX Design intern will work together with the Product Designer and Product Team and is expected to contribute to various design and related tasks such as user research, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, usability testing etc.

You will report to experienced Product Designer, who will mentor and engage you as required across the conceptualization, design and development of exciting new products. You will have regular contact with the full breadth of the diverse TVS Digital team, including technical /non-technical team members, partners and clients, in order to understand their expectations and requirements and then shape the delivery to meet the requirements.

You will need to develop a strong working understanding of our products, design processes and capabilities. You will have the aptitude to manage and contribute to multiple workstreams while being outcome oriented.

Experience in a similar role/internship would be beneficial, but by no means essential. We are looking for aptitude, enthusiasm and resourcefulness with a strong desire to learn and contribute within a startup-like environment.

**Description of Day-to-Day Duties**:

- Assist Product Designer in creation of user flows including detailed visual designs of new digital products and improving existing products
- Participate and note take in usability testing, analyse research data to generate insights to improve the usefulness and usability of products
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and any necessary documentation (storyboards, user flows,process flows) to communicate interaction and design ideas
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to translate business requirements to design solutions
- Be an end-user advocate, drive user needs and goals into both creative and pragmatic design solutions
- Manage and create illustrations, graphics, or other visual communication as required for marketing collaterals and social medias

**Skill-sets Required**:
**Technical Skills (required)**:

- Portfolio of at least 2 UX case studies (please send a pdf less than 3MB or a website link - maximum of 1 heuristics study if any)
- Able to dissect a design problem, sketch, wireframe, and prototype a user flow
- Knowledge of principles, best practices and standards in Visual design
- Good communication skills
- Good collaboration skills and strong team player
- Open mind, flexible, ability to work in ambiguous surroundings as you will be working as a UX design intern supporting a Product team
- Willingness and demonstrated ability to rapidly self-learn on the job (especially if your major is not directly related to HCI/UX)
- Exposure to Agile process and/or tools + methodologies

**Technical Skills (Desirable)**:

- Experience using UX and/or graphic design and prototyping tools (Figma, XD, Invision, etc)
- Flair for visual design and/or background in the same
- Basic understanding of front-end web technologies (eg. HTML, CSS, Javascript)
- Experience with conducting usability testing

**Non-Technical Skills**:

- Interested in getting into or furthering UX design as a career
- Curiosity and learning oriented mindset for financial solutions and technologies
- Collaborative mentality and solid team player
- Organisational skills and the ability to operate in a rational, and systematic way
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
