Senior / Quality Control Associate Chemistry

- **Job Purpose**_
- To perform testing and support related activities in QC Chemistry team.
- To provide technical support in QC chemistry team.
- **Key Responsibilities Area**_
- Performs routine and non-routine testing in the following areas with good observation of GMP requirements.
- Chemical testing for raw materials, intermediates / products and utilities
- Chemical testing to support manufacturing processes/process validations
- Performs equipment calibrations, maintenance and validations as assigned.
- Initiates and participates in laboratory investigations (when required) and assist in timely closure of investigations and CAPAs.
- Performs peer review for verification of task and data.
- Assists in SOPs writing
- Participates in method verification and method validation / transfer (when required)
- Identifies and reports problems in QC to superintendent in timely manner.
- Practices 6S and ensures good housekeeping of laboratory, work area and equipment. Also support lean activities and improvement projects with achievements.
- Ensures good inventory of QC materials (purchased and prepared materials / glassware) to support testing; ensures no over surplus of inventory.
- Adheres to all safety and security policies and practices.
- Ensures wastes are disposed appropriately and promptly**.**
- **Skills, Knowledge and Experience**_
- Fresh graduate in NITEC/Diploma in Chemistry (or equivalent)
- Good laboratory knowledge and hands-on experience in chemistry testing
- Laboratory equipment qualification (advantage)
- Knowledge of cGLP & cGMP (advantage)
- Effective report writing skills (preferably with “legible” handwriting)
- Planning and Organizing skills (for individual time management & work planning)
- Good interpersonal skills
- Effective team player
- Leadership and problem solving skills with analytical and logical thinking (senior and lead position)

Our vaccines facility at Tuas is a key manufacturing site within our global network supplying the active ingredients used to make multiple pediatric vaccines. Tuas site was officially opened in 2009. To date, the site has played a key role in producing more than 800 million vaccines for pneumococcal diseases. Tuas has a workforce of more than 300 employees.

We are expanding operations at our Tuas site adding new exciting products to our production capabilities and becoming an even more significant part of GSK’s worldwide vaccines supply chain.
