Bloomberg News is looking for an experienced, dynamic reporter to become our senior Asia correspondent for government news, helping shape coverage of politics and power in the some of the world's fastest growing markets. The job provides the opportunity to cover a wide range of stories, collaborate with a diverse group of reporters and travel when the story demands on-the-ground reporting. You'll regularly appear on television, radio and social media, and contribute to our newsletter. You will collaborate frequently with reporters in the region as well as Washington and other major global capitals. You are able to quickly assess complex stories and frame them for a global audience through the prism of economics, finance and markets. You will have a track record of breaking news both in terms of hard scoops and scoops of insight. You will also have an established network of decision makers, including politicians, diplomats and those in the security field. **We"ll trust you to**: - Cut through the noise to focus in on the most important news - Make fast and decisive judgement calls to identify the most important stories as well as gaps in coverage - Jump quickly on major breaking news to help explain the developments to readers - Deliver accurate and sharp stories under tight deadlines - Work closely with reporters from multiple teams in the newsroom across Asia and beyond - Deliver high-impact explanatory writing alongside hard news scoops - Generate analysis covering both fast-paced developments in short format and long-term trends and insights **You'll need to have**: - At least 5 recent years of experience as a political reporter or editor - Experience working at a Real-Time News service - Experience covering the government sector as a Reporter - Proven experience coordinating news coverage and collaborating with regional teams - Strong writing skills and the ability to produce sophisticated stories - A deep understanding of history, politics and geopolitics in Asia. - Excellent writing stills and experience producing features. - Aptitude to excel in a fast-paced global environment and meet urgent deadlines - Fluency in both spoken and written English - Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization Bloomberg is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company.
