This role is responsible for the design, assembly and configuration of high-performance computing (HPC) systems to meet the specific requirements for computational workloads of researchers and scientists. It involves selecting and integrating the appropriate hardware and software components as well as thoroughly testing and optimising the HPC systems.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Hardware Selection: Analyse client requirements and recommend the most suitable HPC hardware components including CPUs, GPUs, memory, storage, interconnects and cooling solutions
- System Design: Design HPC systems that optimise performanc,e scalability and energy efficiency based on the clients' computational needs
- System Assembly: Assemble and configure HPC systems, including the installation and integration of all harware components, following industry best practices and safety protocols
- Benchmarking & Testing: Conduct comprehensive benchmarking tests to evaluate the performance, power efficiency and thermal characteristics of the HPC systems, and make adjustments as necessary
- Troubleshooting & Optimisation: Diagnose and resolve any hardware/software issues that arise during the build processs, and implement optimisation to improve overall system performance
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of the HPC system designs, components used, software configurations and benchmarking results
- Quality Assurance: Implement and adhere to strict quality control standards to deliver high-quality HPC systems that meet or exceed client expectations
- Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their requirements, provide technical guidance and ensure a positive overall experience
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest HPC hardware and software technologies, and continually improve the HPC build processes

**Qualification & Skills**
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
- Experience in designing, assembling and configuring high-performance computing systems
- Proficiency in selecting and integrating HPC hardware components, including CPUs, GPUs, memory storage and interconnects
- Expertise in conducting comprehensive benchmarking tests and analysing performance data
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to optimise system performance
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Effective communication & collaboration skills, with the ability to work with clients and cross-functional teams
- Certifications in HPC are preferred
- Ability to stay up-to-date with the latest HPC technology trends and advancements
