[What the role is]

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is Singapore’s central bank and integrated financial regulator.

As central bank, MAS promotes sustained, non-inflationary economic growth through the conduct of monetary policy and close macroeconomic surveillance and analysis. It manages Singapore’s exchange rate, official foreign reserves, and liquidity in the banking sector.

[What you will be working on]

The Financial Risk Specialist Division (Banking Department II) is recruiting a specialist to support MAS’ supervision of financial institutions’ liquidity and asset-liability management risks. This position entails evaluating financial institutions’ approaches towards liquidity risk and asset-liability management, including their methodologies and models. Familiarity with Basel IRRBB is preferred. You are expected to conduct market surveillance, research the latest risk management techniques, and develop supervisory policies / guidelines to financial institutions in Singapore.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments.

- Curious about financial market developments and enjoys problem solving
- Analytical, quantitative and has a good working knowledge of data analytical tools for risk analysis
- Good and concise writing skills with the ability to translate technical reports into supervisory risk implications
- Relevant experience in liquidity and asset-liability risk management functions with a financial institution, and/or possesses an understanding of liquidity risk management processes and interest rate risk managemen
- Relevant degree in Quantitative Finance
