Counsellor / Senior Counsellor (Sen) - Student Care

[What the role is]
Support learners with Special Education Needs (SEN) throughout the course of their study, from admission to graduation and beyond
**[What you will be working on]**
- Provide case management, intervention and counselling support for SEN learners
- Render administrative support such as providing Ministry of Education (MOE) SEN Funding to procure assistive devices and support services
- Assist in academic support arrangement such as to working with the schools to ensure SEN students have access to their curriculum and assessment
- Establish closer interaction and engagement with secondary schools and be the key touch points for graduating mainstream students who intend to progress to NYP
- Provide more comprehensive course advisement and case management sessions to support secondary/ITE students’ transition to NYP and transition support for NYP students at various phrases such as enrolment, school adjustment, school-to-internship and post-graduation
- Design, curate and develop training materials and deliver awareness training for all colleagues as well as small group teaching to upskill lecturers in behaviour and classroom management
- Establish network with companies to seek internship opportunities for students
- Conduct referral of students to other external agencies and assessment services
**[What we are looking for]**
- Relevant qualification in special education or psychology or counselling
- At least 5 years of working experience with special education needs clients in Polytechnic, School or ITE setting
