**Job Purpose/Role**:
Responsible for managing core financial functions to assigned region. Active discussion partner for CEO and business leaders of assigned region. Ensure compliance with local regulatory needs while implementing and adhering to Global Finance Processes & Standards. Create best-practice Finance Function. Drive consistent and continuous improvement of structures and processes. Number of Direct Reports and Budget Responsibility indicate minimum and can vary across the Regions.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Lead and Manage Team (Direct & Matrix Responsibility)
- Provide employees with guidance on the overall strategic picture and how the Global functional area's targets are aligned to it. Define Regional priorities, monitor progress and address deviations to Plan appropriately and effectively. Align Priorities with functional areas.
- Drive Asia elements of the organizational set-up to reflect the global Target Operating Model within parameters of cost budget.
- Coach and develop employees in a continuously changing environment. Empower employees to execute tasks independently.
- Foster behaviour of team members as desired according to Allianz Commercial standards (e.g., behavioural goals, etc...) and live up to the matrix organization.

Regional CFO Strategy
- Develop, implement & execute the Regional CFO Strategy in line with Global CFO & company strategies.
- Create best-practice Finance Function for Region.
- Support profitable business growth, evaluate new product business cases and set new strategic direction with CEO.

Manage Core Finance Functions for Assigned Region
- Proactively provide business steering insights towards the regional EMT. Manage and report on overall financial performance of assigned region.
- Manage regional financial exposure including investment portfolio.
- Instil sound expense management taking into account business needs.
- Steer financial reporting & closing process, tax, regulatory, ratings & internal reporting requirements.
- Proactively drive capital management and optimization.
- Ensure effective risk management and proper loss reserving processes.

Governance & Quality Assurance
- Define and implement consistent and proper Finance processes in line with global standards.
- Ensure proper data quality within closing processes (reconciliation of figures with feeder systems, effectiveness of controls, etc...).
- Define and drive regulatory excellence on local statutory and regulatory reporting.

Relationship Management
- Interface for financial reporting to regulatory authorities.
- Interface for external auditors.
- Interface for ratings agencies.

Support Regional Strategy & Execution
- Support development of the regional strategy and budget (plan) in sync with broader Allianz Commercial.

**Key Experience / Requirements / Skills**:
Required Experience
- Significant experience in senior management position in an insurance company (preferably P&C) with deep understanding of Finance insurance concepts.
- In depth experience in reporting & business analysis concepts & requirements of an international portfolio with high volatile segments.
- Experience of leading change in various business scenarios, including, e.g., restructuring, integration and mature growth markets.
- Experience in leading and developing international and/or virtual teams within a complex global matrix environment.

Required Education
- Excellent tertiary qualification (ideally Master), preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting or qualified by experience in related discipline.

Technical Skills
- Legal & Regulatory Framework: Comprehensive knowledge of local GAAP, IFRS, regulatory, capital, risk, and tax as well to other requirements (such as Allianz Accounting policies) cost reporting, compliance and declaration.
- Market & Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of corporate insurance product portfolio and macroeconomic trends.
- Deep understanding of financials, business steering concepts and cost management.
- Robust knowledge of principles and practices of other relevant functional areas including Claims, Underwriting, Reinsurance and Accounting (particularly local and international accounting rules as applied to reserving).

General Skills
- Navigating Complexity: Ability to make sense of complex issues; respond to complex/ambiguous situations by identifying & initiating appropriate remediation & follow up. Anticipate and resolve issues before these transpire.
