Bandsaw Operator

**Position Overview:
**Responsibilities**:

- Meat Cutting: Operate bandsaw equipment to cut, slice, trim, and portion meat products according to established specifications and customer orders. Ensure precision in cutting to minimize waste and maximize yield.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high-quality standards in meat cutting, ensuring consistency in size, weight, and appearance of meat portions. Inspect meat for defects, discoloration, or irregularities, and remove any undesirable portions.
- Food Safety: Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards throughout the meat cutting process. Follow proper sanitation practices, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment, work surfaces, and utensils regularly.
- Order Fulfillment: Prepare meat products based on customer orders and specifications. Accurately weigh, label, and package meat portions for sale or distribution.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of bandsaw equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Inventory Management: Monitor meat inventory levels and report shortages or excesses to the supervisor. Assist in maintaining organized storage of meat products in refrigerated storage areas.
- Workplace Safety: Follow safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery and handling sharp tools. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with other team members, including meat processors, supervisors, and managers, to ensure smooth production flow and timely order fulfillment.
- Compliance: Adhere to all relevant regulations, including health and safety standards, meat processing guidelines, and company policies.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience as a meat cutter or bandsaw operator is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of meat cutting techniques, including deboning, filleting, and portioning.
- Attention to detail and precision in cutting to minimize waste.
- Understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
- Ability to operate bandsaw equipment safely and effectively.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy cuts of meat.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
