[What the role is]

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is Singapore’s central bank and integrated financial regulator.

As central bank, MAS promotes sustained, non-inflationary economic growth through the conduct of monetary policy and close macroeconomic surveillance and analysis. It manages Singapore’s exchange rate, official foreign reserves, and liquidity in the banking sector.

As an integrated financial supervisor, MAS fosters a sound financial services sector through its prudential oversight of all financial institutions in Singapore - banks, insurers, capital market intermediaries, financial advisors, and stock exchanges. It is also responsible for well-functioning financial markets, sound conduct, and investor education.

MAS also works with the financial industry to promote Singapore as a dynamic international financial centre. It facilitates the development of infrastructure, adoption of technology, and upgrading of skills in the financial industry.

You will be part of a team responsible for work relating to analysing the competitiveness of Singapore’s financial sector and developing the financial ecosystem to support Singapore as an international financial centre. This includes the management and administration of the Financial Sector Development Fund (FSDF).

[What you will be working on]
- Studying the business environment and formulating or reviewing developmental strategies and initiatives to enhance Singapore’s position as a leading international financial centre
- Overseeing the management and administration of incentive schemes under the FSDF to facilitate Singapore’s growth as an international financial centre
- Building and maintaining financial forecasting models, and conducting budget planning and monitoring, to enable the effective management of FSDF’s financial resources
- Establishing and reviewing governance policies and operating procedures for the effective management of the FSDF
- Engage relevant MAS departments and other external stakeholders (including industry players, consultants and other government agencies) to understand and analyse issues, as well as to seek feedback and propose strategies and initiatives that will advance Singapore’s standing as a modern services hub

[ What we are looking for]
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics or a related discipline
- Strong interest in financial sector trends and economic development work
- Possesses strong numeracy, problem solving and reasoning skills
- Proficient in financial modelling
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Have the ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment
- Relevant experience in economic development work or grants management/ administration is an advantage
- You will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments.
