**Roles & Responsibilities**

The Assistant Outlet Manager assists the Outlet Manager/Operations Manager in implementing business plans. He/She is involved in staff control and handling people issues. He/She performs store-level support functions including customer service, scheduling, day-to-day operations, cashiering, loss prevention, maintenance and back office support. He/She is also responsible for the recruitment, training and motivation of staff.

~ Conduct food and beverage hygiene audit.
~ Conduct orientation and training.
~ Conduct staff performance assessment process.
~ Contribute to innovation process within own scope of work in the business unit.
~ Facilitate compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
~ Foster service innovation.
~ Identify and establish internal and external stakeholder relationships.
~ Implement loss/risk prevention.
~ Lead team to implement change.
~ Lead with service vision.
~ Manage and implement business continuity plans.
~ Manage site/outlet and equipment maintenance.
~ Manage training.
~ Managing the customer experience.
~ Monitor income and expenses.
~ Provide information for management decision making.
~ Provide quality control for service.

Jian Bo Tiong Bahru Shui Kueh was founded by Mr Wang in 1958. Arriving in Singapore from a Teochew province in China, Mr Wang earned his keep by selling shui kueh with his trusty pushcart at Tiong Bahru Market.

In the mid 1990s, husband and wife team Mr Ang Kien Huat and Mdm Toh Lai Hueh were invited to help out with the business. Following in the footsteps of Mr Wang’s laudable work ethic, Mr Ang unfailingly wakes up at 6am daily to cook and prepare the chilli and chye poh while Mdm Toh ensures that all the operations run smoothly. This is their promise to consumers that their shui kuehs will always be served fresh.

Having developed a love for shui kueh since young, it was only natural for Eric Ang to join his parents soon after he completed his national service. Eager to contribute, he broadened the brand’s product offering by introducing a whole range of complementary local delights.

Today, just as Mr Wang had entrusted his shui kueh business to the next generation, Jian Bo Tiong Bahru Shui Kueh hopes to become an enduring food brand whose name and flavours can be handed down from one generation to the next.
