**Background**
The Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SMCCI) was established in 1956 and is an independent non-profit organisation. We play a proactive role in representing the interests of the local Malay/Muslim business community.
SMCCI Enterprise Pte Ltd (SEPL) is the business arm of the Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Complementing the Chamber’s mission of Uplifting Enterprises, SEPL is set up as a Special Purpose Vehicle to explore business opportunities. Ultimately, these business opportunities facilitate growth and transformation for SMEs in which SEPL partners with SMCCI members in aggregated efforts to carry out mothership projects.
Part of the capability development department’s initiative, SMCCI recently launched SMCCI Academy. The objective of the academy is to ensure that business-owners stay equipped in dealing with the challenging business landscape, and a pipeline of future-ready individuals are created to support these businesses, thus harmonising both demand and supply side factors of the SME ecosystem.
**Job Purpose**
The Executive (Capability Development)** **is responsible to ensure that graduates of the programme, can then enter the market, be it as a business owner (employer) or as a skilled employee. He/she is responsible in assisting the harmonizing demand between these two parties by providing a source of manpower for businesses and employment for employees.
**Core Responsibilities**
- Ensure quality and timely implementation of the manpower placement against set objectives, targets, work plans.
- Responsible in matching employers to employees and vice versa.
- To develop relationship/partnership with TACs, government agencies, learning institutions and SMEs.
- To work with SMEs in identifying their manpower needs and optimising the use of their manpower resources.
- To curate a ready portfolio of local manpower pipeline.
- To coordinate across other agencies to expand further on placing as many individuals and businesses as possible.
- Conduct review of manpower placement through reporting indicators, metrics and reporting tools.
- To track number of job placement/recruitment.
- Identify the manpower placement or recruitment needed in the pool of graduates from the academy.
- To track post-placement and ensure employees stay within the job for at least 3 months.
**Ancillary Responsibilities**
- Encourage activities, create partnerships and nurture networking value in order to facilitate the successful administration.
- Work well across all internal departments towards facilitating the goals of the academy.
- Plan, communicate and manage your resources effectively.
- Assistance in execution of SMCCI signature capability programmes.
- Assistance in execution of SMCCI signature events which involve whole-of-organisation involvement.
- Complete all other duties within reason as requested by your reporting officer.
**Requirements**:
- A minimum of Nitec/Higher Nitec in Events Management, Public Relations, Hospitality, Human Resources & Administration, Service Management or any other related disciplines.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply, but a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience, in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
- Basic skills in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
- Basic project management skills.
- Able to handle operations and logistics for the execution.
- Familiarity with the enterprise eco-system in Singapore, more specifically SMEs
