**CONTEXT OF THE JOB**

The Relationship Manager is responsible to create and strengthen relationships with clients, identifying opportunities for business growth, and delivering service excellence through active engagements and understanding clients’ requirements, and addressing issues promptly. The individual possesses excellent communication and problem-solving skills and work closely with internal stakeholders locally and across the regions to boost profitability and client satisfaction. The Relationship Manager also acts as the first line of defence when it comes to risk management of the client and compliance in respect to account on-boarding and maintenance for AAC.

**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Monitor the profitability and income of clients in line with plan and budget, identify timely deviations and initiate effective and corrective actions, where necessary.
- Maintain a strong relationship with clients and build trust among them. Actively engage clients to discuss their strategic plans and garner support from internal stakeholders to facilitate our clients’ growth and generate new businesses and increase AAC’s profitability.
- Understand clients’ financing requirements and supplement credit reviews and proposals prepared by regional Credit Team with up-to-date client information and business plans.
- Promote and cross-sell AAC’s products and services in collaboration with other AAC’s business units and counterparts in other regions. Use data management tools to substantiate client business proposals.
- Take the lead in contract and fee negotiations.
- Proactively initiate client meetings and follow up on business opportunities and client queries, ensuring that issues are addressed or escalated in a timely and client focussed manner.
- Regularly communicate clients’ feedback and innovations internally and take the lead or participate in new business initiatives and projects.
- Work with business control teams to update account procedures and client/external stakeholders’ documentations are properly executed and filed.
- Maintain positive relationships with all exchanges, brokers, product issuers, custodians, cash clearers, settlement banks and clients through regular contact.
- Ensure smooth relationships are maintained with all other internal departments and report issues of significance to the Regional Chief Commercial Officer promptly. Act as the first line of defense (1LoD) and be responsible for client reach-out in collaboration with second line of defense (2LoD) when it comes to contractual and non-contractual limit breaches, and account on-boarding and maintenance.

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor degree in the Commerce/Business sector or equivalent.
- CMFAS qualification for trading in Futures Contracts and MAS Representatives’ License holder for Dealing in Securities.
- Minimum of 3-5 years sales, relationship management and account management experience in the capital markets sector.
- Passion for high quality customer service and have experience working with Market Makers, Proprietary Traders, broker-dealers, asset managers and Banks.
- Knowledge of Direct Market Access services.
- A good team player.
- Problem-solving attitude.
- Ability to demonstrate credibility and inspire client confidence.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
